Srinagar, June 18 (KNO): In the lead-up to International Yoga Day, the J&K Sports Council organized captivating yoga demonstrations today at the scenic shores of Manasbal and Wular Lake, blending the tranquility of nature with the timeless practice of yoga. These lakeside sessions drew widespread attention for promoting inner wellness, peace, and the tourism potential of Jammu and Kashmir. Set against the pristine backdrop of Kashmir’s natural beauty, the demonstrations showcased how yoga can harmonize body and mind while also strengthening the region’s identity as a peaceful and vibrant destination. The initiative not only celebrated the physical and spiritual benefits of yoga but also highlighted the synergy between sports, ecology, and tourism in the Union Territory. These events form part of a larger series of demonstrations and awareness activities being conducted by the J&K Sports Council across the region in the run-up to International Yoga Day on June 21. The aim is to encourage a culture of fitness, mindfulness, and community participation across diverse age groups and geographies. The peaceful ambiance of Wular and Manasbal, combined with the disciplined movements of trained Yogasana athletes, sent a powerful message: Kashmir stands as a land of calm, vitality, and opportunity, open to the world for exploration, rejuvenation, and meaningful experiences through both tourism and sports. Thousands are expected to participate in the Yoga Day celebrations across various centers of the J&K Sports Council, reflecting the growing resonance of yoga as a way of life in the region—(KNO)
